Tube and Parts Kits

We're often asked to put together parts packages for those who want to build their own frame, but are confused by all the tube and part options. Below you will find two sets, one using standard size tubing and one oversize tubing, with lugs, BB shell, fork crown and a selection of components that can be built to work together for a rideable frame. Tubing is specified by the manufacturer for normal road type use. All components are pictured and detailed elsewhere on this website.

N.B. Tubes and Parts are not suitable for off road use, heavy, tall or aggressive rider, or for all equipment. For other types of frame, out of normal range riders or specific equipment eg disc brakes, we suggest you consult with a professional frame builder or frame school for advice. We are not frame designers, just sellers of parts so we not have the expertise to spec. up for all the frame types that could be made with our parts. And certain types of frame are a bad idea to be built by those without good frame building skills for health and safety reasons eg lighter tubes, MTB etc. Additionally, please note that building frames will require metalworking skills, and know-how and planning for best results. Lugs and bb shells are supplied in standard angles, which may require 'pulling' to achieve certain frame sizes/designs.

* If you are new to brazing, or you are unsure of your ability, it is vital that you proceed with caution in fabricating your build. As a minimum we recommend you should do a good deal of practice brazing before you start on your frame project, together with cutting open and testing of the joints you make. Without brazing skills, it is easy to produce poorly penetrated joints, which may appear strong, but which may fail with use. Poorly built frames or frames built for heavy purposes/riders that the components were not made to withstand are potentially dangerous to the cyclist, particularly poorly brazed or understrength forks. For this reason we seperate out the fork components from each set and suggest you buy prefabricated forks, rather than build your own, unless you are 100% confident of your fabricating skills for this task. Framebuilding courses are available in some countries. There are also web resources and some published information in print on framebuilding. Contact us if you would like further details. Eg When ordering our newbie sets, we can also offer you cheap practice pressed lugs at £2.68 each (+ 20% VAT in EU),  practice pressed BB Shells at £3.00 each, and tubes for practice brazing at £5.50 each (2 tubes can be cut up and used with 6 lugs for maximal use of the tube) along with the kits above. Other practice parts. Forged Dropouts £2.00 / pair, cast socket dropouts £3.50/pair, practice top eyes £1.50 / pair. Practice cast lugs at £3.95 each, practice cast bb shells £4.80 each. We also have some cast stainless bb shells at £6.50 each if you want to practice silver soldering. And plain bb sleeves threaded £3.00 each. Parts are supplied as practice parts, only suitable for use in practice brazing/joints. Parts are odds and not compatible beyond joint brazing practice. If parts are ordered seperately to newbie kit, please assume + 25% on these prices.
